OPERATION "ARSENAAL" SUCCESSES IN THE SOUTHERN CAPE

We managed to bring to book a total of 237 perpetrators during operation "Arsenaal" during the periods as follows: 2002-07-15 at 23:00 until 2002-07-16 at 07:00 and 2002-07-16 at 23:00 till 2002-07-17 at 07:00. Maximum detective personnel in the Southern Cape were utilized as we needed to trace outstanding wanted persons in Crimbin cases and warrant of arrest cases. During the first night 117 arrests and 120 on the second night were made:

43 Persons on Theft charges.
65 Persons on Assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
1 For Attempted Murder; 27 for Housebreaking
5 For Possession of Dagga
2 For Possession of suspected stolen property
6 On charges of Rape
1 On a charge of stock theft
1 On a charge of Domestic Violence
1 On a charge for receiving stolen goods
20 On Robbery charges
1 On Theft of a motor vehicle
6 On Crimen Injuria
9 For Assault Common
1 For Child Abuse
14 For Malicious Damage to Property
2 For Indecent Assault
1 On a charge of Fraud
1 On a charge of Public Violence
1 On a charge of Using Motor Vehicle without owners consent
2 On charges of Riotous Behavior
1 For Reckless and Negligent Driving
1 For Murder
1 For Arson
24 Persons on Warrants of Arrests

During this operation 200 grams dagga was confiscated and clothing to the value of R100,00 were returned.
